– Renaissance Woman –

2016 – ink on paper – 10in x 21in

Inspired by renaissance art and figures of the era, the thought behind this piece was to illustrate the hardships women endure. The cloth she wears is a symbol of the weight of her responsibilities, the complexity of her worries and fears. How it entangles her body with no clear, easy approach to uncloth herself, needing to be free from the things holding her back, remaining still in place, like the column she leans on.

Let’s build something together.
