2020 – Graphite on paper – 14in x 11in
Inspired by the four seasons and how moods can reflect the changes in weather.
Just like with nature, changes in the human body occur and create emotional behaviors. My concept with this piece is that the changes in season are a reflection of moods we can experience at different points in time through the cycle of a year. The feeling of rejuvenation or new beginnings experienced in spring. The joys and happy times found on bright summer days. The sense of loss and sadness felt through a damp fall period. The feeling of loneliness and darkness that occurs in long winters.
Part of my series of pencil drawings about self-reflection, an exploration of internal conflicts.
